Coming Soon....

There is something so sweet about this 4get me not vintage skirt that I couldn't resist. From the "warning signs,"to the alligators ferociously munching on what looks to be a pair of keds, I knew this skirt was a dream come true. My specs are peeled wide, as I await its arrival from another  Emily's shop (across the pond). Take a peek at 4 get me not vintage, your dream alligator clothes (or whatever) await you!

Peter Pantsuit (and other thrift store tales of success)

Today on my way home from work  I decided to pop into the Regifting store. This place is nuts, and one can expecting to find from the very best ($6.00 vintage gowns) to the very worst ($6.00 sooty, smokey, pee stained vintage couches). Today was the ultimate thrift store success. I go in not a care in the world, when all of a sudden a golden glint in the distance catches my eye. I hone in to find myself clutching a v-neck, long sleeved, gold embellished, black pantsuit. At this point you're probably thinking "what the hell is wrong with you?" Trust me, the words went through my mind when I picked up the suit, purchased the suit, and pretty much the whole way home as it rode next to me in the car (don't worry, it was in a bag, not buckled in like a passenger). An-y-ways! At home I put the pantsuit on, and boy oh boy best $2.00 spent in a good old fashion time (not to mention the button down chambray Blazers shirt I purchased for .25 cents, yes .25 cents). The good news for you, and me, and everyone we know, is that one weekend a month the Regifting store sells all of  the clothes in the store for .25 cents (yes all of the clothes, smokey, sooty, pee-y, and straight up goodies).

Guess What Came in The Mail Today...

Some of you may or may not know, I have been collecting old sheets and tablecloths to use for our wedding (don't worry the dinner tables won't look like beds, or be beds for that matter). Anyways, I commissioned my dear sweet cousin, Raina to stitch those old babies up (the sheets, not children) and turn them into jazzy new napkins. Raina is only eleven years old, with knitting and sewing skills beyond her years. Today, I was greeted with a box full of napkins, and a hand written note. Thank you very much.

You're A Grand Old Flag

It had been awhile, so last night I broke my flag making silence, and stitched up a few floral pendants to tuck away in my floral pendant pile (aka shoved into a box in my living room closet). Somewhere between finishing one set of flags, visions of the barn at Alex's parent's house that will double as a wedding stage, beer, and my Pennsylvania Dutch Design bins book, I embarked on a new flag project. The flag started as a plain old yellow sheet, and was ripped and stitched into a 4x2 beauty. The floral and fauna you see above, are slowly taking over the boarder of the flag. Alex and I made a deal, that once I finish the boarder, he will paint (in his best cursive, mind you) some sort of sweet (or even vulgar) words. We we're thinking "toilets" "Shut up and eat!" or I am fond of "I love you baby till the cows come home." Suggestions?

All Tied Up

What luck! I recently stumbled upon the vintage tie bin (at none other then the bin bins)! Can you believe it? Seven ties for seven lucky gents, or ladies (washed, and free of any bins lice...or whatever else you might fear from the bins ...snakes, teeth etc.)! I'm partial to the the two tweed ties (the grey and the plaid), the pink and blue stripy number is a close third.
