This and That

Just a few things. Photo one, though it might be obvious that Francis is not truly speaking in a cartoon images (it might not), he is also not wearing that bow tie... just a little technology trickery I learned recently. Photo two, four new succulent and vintage container additions to our home (I wish it were 44...with time). Photo three, some old drawings I stumbled upon. I'm digging the psychedelic 70's spirit animal vibe going on (or maybe I have my vibes confused...I'm digging these drawings though).

Back!

Oh hello!  My blog is back from hiatus. Let's just say due to a busy month, and (cough) some technically difficulties with blogger, I have cracked the code and am back with  vengeance  (though unlike vengeance I bring stories of happiness, kittens, kooky Halloween costumes etc). So I guess you could say I'm just back, and boy am I glad to see you.

A House to Write Home About

Have I mentioned that I'm a firm believer of Jinxing?  Now I'm not talking about Ouija boards or anything too kooky, though there a few things I feel can sway one's luck (example if a black cat crosses my path, deep down, I'm hoping that baby has a white belly). As I've revealed, Alex and I have been searching high and low for the perfect Portland home. Recently, we put an offer on a true Portland beauty, and are currently in the final stages of sealing the deal. As a newbie to the world of signing your money away and your life with it, I realize "the final stages of sealing the deal" can be quite the timely process (we are just over a month). Since I'm a firm believer in jinx, I'm going to hold off on house photos till it is happily in our arms (yes, till the house is happily in our arms). In the mean time, the pictures above add a glimpse (to almost nothing)of what the house is like, and could be like. The drawing in the top,  the house (clearly), built in 1907, 3 bedrooms 1.5 baths, blue with white trim, original fixtures, wood floors, lovely neighbors,  beautiful.  The next three drawings are things I feel would look absolutely fabulous in the house (not to be confused with the British sitcom my mother likes, ABFAB). I'm on the look out for the perfect vintage dresser, a blue hobnail glass pitcher, and a rag doll cat to name Little Biggie. Un-jinxed, stay tuned for more details and real photos of the house.

Cattoo

I've officially done it, I've taken the inky plunge into permanent accessories.  It was almost one year ago that Alex gave me a gift of a tattoo for my birthday. Whelp folks, my birthday is May 15th, and approaching at a rapid rate (send cards to Hawthorne blvd...kidding kidding).Quite frankly I have had almost one year to ponder this gift. After plenty of thought, and a blog pole, we set out to get our arms upgraded (now I know what you are thinking mothers "there was nothing wrong your arm in the first place").  The top photo, is the look of a woman in pain (I'm being polite because I just met the tattoo artist, but I'm thinking "hubbaba hubbuba HELP ME" that first part was just a bit of gibberish...sometimes you go there when in a state of pain). An-y-ways, after a mere fifteen minutes,  I was doting my new cattoo, complete with a precious bow, and party hat (can a girl complain?). Oh and yes I did draw that baby....you want one? Alex got a tattoo too (not to be confused with a tutu). Can you spot it on that handsome arm of his (it's tiny look very very closely)?

Work It

It's been just over five months since I started my new job. The drawings above depict my experience. Drawing number one is cat with an ice cream cone on his kooky head saying "coo coo" (a familiar state of mind over the last months, sans the actual cone on my head).  So much to do so much to learn. Drawing two,  a seatbelt (not much to say there beyond the obvious)...that took place around last week.  Which leads me to drawing three, a cat, paw thumbs up held high, saying "woopity woop." Work is good.
