Saturday Night Frights

Remember last week how I was like "what Halloween costume do you think I should dress as Mickey Mouse or a Slice of Pizza?" Do you remember that? Well I have some sad news... neither costume happened this weekend (now before you say something harsh like "how dare you" or "I can't believe this outrageous news" please note, that somewhere in the world this weekend someone was probably dressed like Mickey and Pizza). After a long series of thrift store searching for parts of either costume (with no luck mind you), I decided I must  determine a costume based on clothing I already own. Here's what happened, I recalled  I  own a lovely 80's pantsuit that doesn't get the wear it deserves (still with me?), from there I tried to think of pantsuit doting people, and the best ones at that. The winner (as seen above) was Sally Jesse Raphael circa 1990 .  My arm candy was a giant nacho (talk about a real night on the town people).

 with black buttons, high waisted red shorts with white buttons, 

 yellow shoes, and a homemade pair of ears (not to mention

 dollop of black on my nose).

    2. A slice of Pizza- homemade cardboard pizza (toppings tba),

red shoes, and tights. 

I'm in a costume bind, and I truly need your help. I had my heart set on Mickey Mouse, and all of a sudden the idea of making a giant cardboard pizza costume popped into my head (what's a gal to do?). Both costumes have their pros and cons, and both have their crafting work cut out for them. Picture this, you're at a party, someone walks in the door, it's the best costume you have ever seen and it's________(fill in the blank for Mickey or Pep Pizza below, and even if your favorite blank is something else, do me a favor and pretend). Thank you.

I was pleased as punch when Shirley agreed to be a guest bedazzler. Shirley is the mastermind behind the lovely blog single green female, and I certainly can't get enough of her fabulous etsy shop (you won't regret a peek at both). Here's what she had to say about her precious horse sweater... "I have a bit of an obsession with horses, and oversized cozy sweaters are my kryptonite so when I saw this in Toronto at my local thrift store I was completely giddy with excitement. When I found out the price was a mere $30 I did a little jig, cuz who doesn't love findin super cool stuff for super cheap! So that's my tale of my horsey sweater! Yee Haw!" Thank you Shirley!

Oldies But Goodies

Just a few gems I stumbled upon at Exiled records this weekend.  Look closely, that is a Blazer mania record, that does have play by play of the 1977 championship game! Tainted Love's version of "Where Did our Love Go" is a 45 single in the size of a 33... we accidentally played it at the 33 speed, and it was the best mistake we could have possibly made (it's been on non stop in this form). When slowed down, it sounds so sultry, yet keeps the pace/ beat of the original (it's so good).

For my birthday this year Alex gave me a coupon for a tattoo  

(take this opportunity to pencil my birthday, May 15th in your calendar for next year... kidding kidding).  Tell me what you think about the birthday cats above (example 1 & 2)? I'm thinking a birthday cat (no color) the size of a nickel,  on the upper inside of my arm (preferably in a concealable as needed region). The cats would definitely use a bit of sprucing (added or sans whiskers, a little less/more scruff around the edges...etc.)  so you will have to make your decisions based on the drawings above. Tell me people 1 or 2 or none? Thank you kindly.

Oh Baby!

Before you get all "what is this a frickin' baby blog?" bear with me while I ush and gush for just a moment here! So remember the other day when I posted about my beauty of a sister in law  Jessyka (and was all "oh look at Jessyka, her and my brother are about to have a baby, she looks great... blah blah blah" and other stuff like that)? Then just the other day, I was like look it's my brother Jonah  and he is having a big ol' birthday?! Well guess what (if the pictures, the title, and all the hype didn't give it away) they had their beautiful baby girl on  Jonah's birthday (talk about birthday twins). Isn't she so beautiful?! Harper Joyce Dart-Mclean, you are the sweetest little nugget I ever did see-n (except read it like "see" and "mclean" rhyme).
