Saint Valentine

Valentine's Day is upon us, and even with all the hubbub worked up by Hallmark,  I've always been fond of the day. Though me, and the lot of us often forget that Valentine's day is based on the Saint himself (take this moment to pour one out for your homey, if that's your thing). When I was kid, I loved decorating Valentine's Boxes, and the equity of the Elementary school tradition "that you had to give a every student in the class a Valentine" (twenty plus pieces of candy later, everyone is as happy as a Valentine's day clam). As I've gotten older, I've become a firm believer in celebrating love everyday...though Valentines day does fit in the category of "everyday!"  Today (and everyday) I'm lucky to have a sweet Valentine, who is smart, handsome, kind (the kindest), a real silly Billy, who slow dances with me to my favorite oldies in  our kitchens, and will talk with me in the morning about our dreams...the list goes on and on (swoon today, swoon tomorrow, swoon everyday). Happy Valentine's Day.

Quick Study

Looking for that perfect piece of fashion heaven, a delicate one of a kind gem, that is well made, stylish, and comfortable? Well friends, look no further because your search ends this instant (and when I say "instant," I mean when you get to the end of the page...).  My dear friend Caitlin McCall is the brains, beauty, and sewing wizard behind Quick Study (your new favorite clothing). As you can tell from the dresses above, Quick Study clothes are sure easy on the eyes. My favorite part... not only are the clothes good looking, they are well crafted,  and what's this you say...functional?! All of Caitlin's clothes are bike friendly designs in textiles that are made to withstand work, play, and this kooky weather we call are own. Rumor has it some of the dresses have secret pockets sewn in to hold things like wallets and whisky alike (sold). On top of all that goody goodness, these days Caitlin is doing a project (Dress to Ride) where she features interviews with local women wearing Quick Study clothing talking about there experiences as  bicycle riders in Portland (and looking fly while they do it).  Check out her online shop and never look back!

Boy Oh Boyer

 Happy Birthday to my dear friend Emily (Boyer) Johnson. I love you and hope today is filled with good things like cakes, songs, beers, and cheers! While searching for the perfect Emily B pictures, I stumbled upon photo 3 above (you dressed as Sylvester Stallone in Over the Top)... You're the best.  

Soul Train

Soul train, not to be confused with that hit dancing show in the 70's (yep, Soul Train), but boy oh boy I wish it was! I went to Seattle for work the other day. Such a treat. Important numbers to remember: three hours,  forty eight dollars, two states...easy peasy.
