Saint Valentine

Valentine's Day is upon us, and even with all the hubbub worked up by Hallmark,  I've always been fond of the day. Though me, and the lot of us often forget that Valentine's day is based on the Saint himself (take this moment to pour one out for your homey, if that's your thing). When I was kid, I loved decorating Valentine's Boxes, and the equity of the Elementary school tradition "that you had to give a every student in the class a Valentine" (twenty plus pieces of candy later, everyone is as happy as a Valentine's day clam). As I've gotten older, I've become a firm believer in celebrating love everyday...though Valentines day does fit in the category of "everyday!"  Today (and everyday) I'm lucky to have a sweet Valentine, who is smart, handsome, kind (the kindest), a real silly Billy, who slow dances with me to my favorite oldies in  our kitchens, and will talk with me in the morning about our dreams...the list goes on and on (swoon today, swoon tomorrow, swoon everyday). Happy Valentine's Day.

Happy Birthday Doily Lawson

Shola had a birthday, and it was just grand. Wine with a view, a golden dazzled birthday dress, a banjo performance, party hats, and babes. Happy Birthday Doily!

Javier + Fuentes

August was truly a doozy, so busy that I didn't take a moment to post about the various (wonderful) weddings  we went to this summer (4 to be precise). The first wedding we went to was our dear friends Brooks and Noel (the photos above don't do the lovely event justice... and I'm kicking myself for not getting more snaps of the two lovebirds together). Their wedding was perfect,  a roof top affair in the Pear District complete with the sweetest details (buttons with the couple on them, bunting flags a plenty, ice cream sandwiches, and a DJ playing hit after hit...). The night was filled with beers, cheers, and tears, not to mention two surprise dance performances coordinated by the groom (what a guy). Congrats you love doves, the wedding ( like you two together) was just lovely.

Eight Years of Great!

Above are just a few snaps from the past year's travels (and Alex, I love you to Hawaii, France, and back). Today marks eight delightful years of  love, laughs, cheers, tears (of joy), and maybe a few beers. You are still the apple  of my eye, the first thing I think of in the morning, and the last thing I think of before bed. Eight years ago you caught my eye, and stole my heart, thanks.

Phone Home

Best sheet ever! I can now sleep soundly. Though I plan  to snip this baby up and attempt to make some ET clothing (am I right or am I right?)
