Why hello! I can't believe it's July 1st, seriously where has the time gone? Talk about a whirlwind since May, work trips, trip trips (as in going places, but not the drug type), anniversaries, laughs, tears, beers, cheers (a birthday or two in the mix), and of course good music! Most recently me and Alex went on a camping trip to celebrate our 9 year anniversary (that man still makes my heart flutter at the thought of him). An-y-ways, I thought some camping photos would be a nice ease back into this here blog. Oh, and we went to Bonney Meadows/ Boulder Lake campsite outside of Mt Hood, and it was just glorious. A nice hike in, and out, sleeping by the lake, and deer to boot. I forget I like camping until I do it, but it sure feels good to take a break from the hubbub of Portland.

See You Tonight...

Gladys Bike (Photo by Shola Lawson)
DJ Big Booty Judy (Photo by Shola Lawson)
The mastermind behind Quick Study (cough from when she was featured on the news... yeah the news man).
See you tonight from 5-9pm at 2905 NE Alberta St. for the Supermarket @ the End of the World party (an event to write home about if you ask me). This music, film, fashion, photo event (not necessarily in that order) is brought to you by the gems pictured above (Quick Study Clothing, Gladys Bikes, Shot by Shola, Jackson Ward, and a dabble of DJ Big Booty Judy in the mix. There will be a raffle, a different type of photo booth (curious?), dancing, glorious photos and fashion to gaze at (not to mention it's Shola's photo debut, so come on down). When I say "I'm excited to see you there," I mean it in a shout it from the top of my lungs followed by a heel click sort of way.

A Message to a Birthday Man
'
Happy birthday dear darling Alexander. You are the bee's knees, the cat's pajamas, the sundae's sprinkles, the hammer's nail... you get it, you're the best (and not just because it's your Birthday, but because you're the best.). Here you are above in a suit (not to be confused with a birthday suit, but a birthday suit because of the day it falls on) looking as dashing as ever (more dashing than the spice from the 1990's...Mrs. Dash). I thought the song above by Ike and Tina Turner and the Kings of Rhythm would be a nice way to ring in the commencing of age (you'll hear the Birthday song more then once today, and I figured why not switch it up ya know?). Since Francis doesn't blog (yet), the message above was all his paws could type. I love you to the Birthday Moon...and back.

St Patrick's Day the Doily Way
See us above in our green clothes today. See (your future) Delicate Doilies green and gold clothes from the shop below.
In honor of St. Patrick's Day we have written a Delicate Doilies Patty themed limerick. Ahem...
There once was a vintage shop
with oodles of goodies over the top.
'Twas on st Patrick's day many dollars came the doily way,
and the good people shopped till they dropped!

Spring Fever
Bada bing bada boom bada bang, it's March yet again (and yet again I find myself saying "where has all the time gone?"). Say it with me know "where has all the time gone?" March (already) is booked to the brim with work, and some rather exciting things... including but not limited to: Alex's upcoming birthday (I'm a sucker for celebrating birthdays), and my brother and co are moving to Oregon from Alaska ("and co" represents his lovely wife and darling daughter...see adorable child above). In other news, I just got back from a quick jaunt to Seattle, train in, training, train out shazam (yeah "shazam," like something Shaq would say right before he popped out of a jeanie bottle in a bad straight to video... video). See above for other March things (Cat Paint, sleeping cat drawings, sleeping darlings, new house plants, new bright shoes, rooms with views, Portland Timbers, and our backyard bench... which I can't wait to read on when it gets warmer). What's new with you?
