Alton Ellis...For your Listening Pleasure

I'm sort of on an old reggae kick, but truly can you blame me?

Jaws

This week commences national shark week, and in Portland it's  also burger week. Which makes me wonder if there is some sort of shark burger floating around town (ha, the word "floating" in that sentence is really becoming)...or maybe even a shark shaped burger?   To celebrate, we joined some friends, and road our bikes down to The Zidell Yards to watch Jaws. It was pretty spectacular to watch the movie along the water at sundown, with cars zipping by overhead on the Ross Island Bridge (the type of magic where once is enough).  Photos 2-4 were taken by Alex, and he/ Studio Jelly also did the design for the poster on the top (sheer talent  I say).

Glass-ic

Reveling in the look of old glass on a new shelf. Sigh.

Tropical Breeze

We just painted our dining room the nicest yellow, Tropical Breeze. It's more of a soft yellow than the photo above, though I couldn't resist this perfect photo opportunity to  take a quick snap of this handsome devil matching his surroundings (don't worry bright eye readers, the flash is on/ the wall and the shirt are of the softer sort).

The Clarendonians...For Your Listening Pleasure

Can you even believe this cover? I heard this at a wedding last Sunday, and I just can't stop listening to it. Now, the next feat, finding this baby on vinyl. Bonus points if you beat me to it (and a steak dinner...(or whatever your steak is)if you drop it off on my porch).

Portland Flead

On July 21st, 2013 Delicate Doilies took our shop to a whole new level... The Portland Flea, people (the Portland Flea). I was going to title this "Flea Your Mind and the Rest Will Follow" but I wasn't sure how many En Vogue fans were out there (reading my blog at this very moment), because EnVogue fans in the world are clearly endless... clearly). The Flea day was grand, full of $5 bins and people watching. Thanks to everyone who popped by to say hello. Don't fret if you missed it, we tentatively will be booth bound at First Friday in September in front of the beloved shop Haunt. Stay tuned.
